Come Celebrate with Us! Blessing and Launch of a traditional Algonquin Birch Bark Canoe in Kingston's Inner Harbour.
For the past two weeks, Chuck Commanda, Algonquin Traditional Knowledge Keeper, has led the community build of an authentic birch bark canoe.
Sat, Sept 26 will include a free venison chili feast, blessing and launch of the boat and the opportunity to get out on the water in a birch bark canoe.
Sun, Sept 27, in partnership with TrueNorthAid will include a Truth and Reconciliation walk, workshops tbd and again the change to paddle in an authentic birch bark canoe.
