Cross Rhythms Joyce N'Sana concert with Kimya as the opening act

Musique en direct

The Frontenac Cultural Centre is proud to collaborate with the National Alliance of the Music Industry (ANIM) Scène Afrofranco project , which aims to introduce young French speakers of African origin or descent, who are passionate about music, to the design, production and complete implementation of a musical show. The Frontenac Cultural Centre , ANIM and the entire cohort of the Scène Afrofranco project are pleased to present Rythmes croisés with:

Kimya (Opening act)

Originally from Kinshasa, in the Democratic Republic of Congo, he moved to Ottawa in 2004. Quickly drawn to several creative worlds, Kimya immersed himself in visual art, breakdancing, and photography, expressing his thirst for creation. He soon discovered a passion for words and writing, and thus saw the birth of his first texts.

Through his poetry, Kimya builds a universe where experiences, dreams and a thirst to build a universe of peace and escape are articulated. Semi-finalist at the Festival International de la Chanson de Granby in 2017, he released his first EP Or & Flamme the same year, which won the 2019 Trille Or prize in the discovery category.

Joyce N'sana

Joyce N'sana is the voice of Afrobluehop. First known for her reggae, she now offers a delicious blend of Afro-blues and hip-hop. A Radio-Canada Revelation of 2021-2022, she grew up in the midst of the Congolese wars and carries a clear and determined message: she spreads the art of peace.

An African dance performance and a light snack are also on the program.

To make this show more accessible to diverse communities, we've introduced a pay-what-you-can ticket option starting at $2. Any contribution is welcome and greatly appreciated.
