The "GHOST TRAIN Bike Ride" event takes place on Sept 25 (10-3) along Cataraqui Trail and includes 6 'Stations' covering a 19 mile (30.4 km) section from Strathcona, through Newburgh, Camden East, Yarker, Harrowsmith, and Sydenham.
The public are invited to come and cycle some or all of this section of the CAT Trail while enjoying the safe, outdoor Fall Fair-like atmosphere with some interesting Railway and Community History on display during a colourful time of year in the Forests of eastern Ontario. Your ride can start anywhere and there is lots of parking at Harrowsmith, Sydenham and Yarker, and limited parking at the other stations.
Each 'Station' will present some of the local Railway and Community history through pictures, stories, artifacts, and re-enactments hosted by the 'Station Agent', who will punch Tickets and provide clues about the Ghosts and other history mysteries, with the support of Friends of the Cataraqui Trail, historian Steve Manders, and the communities this passes through. Other vendors will be available to complete your experience of riding to find the Ghost Train.
