Jon McLurg and Anthea Feaver are Kingston musicians who perform a mixture of folk styles from Celtic to old time. Both are accomplished songwriters and solo artists. Jon is a member of Turpin’s Trail and Anthea leads the Feaver Dreams. For this afternoon matinee they channel the spirit of the famous Coen Brothers film, “Oh Brother Where Art Thou?” and present a selection of great songs for hard times. They will share the infectiously uplifting tunes and words of the Carter Family, the Stanley Brothers, and many others.
Jon is a Kingston musician who performs regularly as a solo artists as well as a member of Turpin’s Trail, Goodnight Irenes and in duos with Anthea Feaver and Jessica Wedden. This award-winning songwriter also performs of variety of traditional and cover songs. His finger style guitar playing is reminiscent of Mississippi John Hurt and Elizabeth Cotten.
