Secret Chord: Songs of Leonard Cohen Concert at The Isabel

We celebrate the wonderful music of Canadian icon Leonard Cohen with Kimberley Dunn, Kyle Briscoe, and a surprise singer. Cantor Gideon Zelermyer, featured soloist on “You Want It Darker” will share his anecdotes.  The evening will feature two parts, beginning with a tribute concert that celebrates Cohen’s iconic body of work. Popular songs like Hallelujah, Suzanne, Dance Me to the End of Love, and I am Your Man will be performed by three renowned musicians - Kimberley Dunn from Ottawa, a Montreal-based singer Kyle Briscoe and an internationally recognized surprise artist. Following the concert, we will transition into our second segment, which is a conversation with Gideon Zelermyer, Cantor at Montreal’s Shaar Hashomayim Synagogue, led by Dr. Mehmet Karabela. Cantor Zelermyer collaborated with Cohen on the production of “You Want it Darker,” his Grammy Award winning album before his passing. During this portion of the event, Cantor Zelermyer will share personal anecdotes about his relationship with Cohen.
